whats the sex of my jack dempsey

so I've got these 2 electric blue Jack Dempsey that I would like to find out the sex of them any info would be great...

I would say bottom is the male but I'm no Cichlid expert either. I'll let Mike, Freak, or Gille confirm it.

Bottom is not an electric blue and is male, top is a weird looking electric blue. Maybe it's just the picture, but it looks deformed. Not sure on the sex

The top one is deformed tried to swallow an(outocinclid ) misspelled I'm sure. Thank u all for the help I kinda always thought the bigger one was the male.

I don't think that would deform him... But Jack Dempsey are sort of like oscars... Unless it's bigger than the JD or just as aggressive it's fish food.

had one stuck in its mouth and was trying to spit it back out and the BARBS on the side of the oto.. Separated the bottom of it's Head from the body.

Would anyone be able to tell me the sex of this electric blue dempsey? I have it in with another EBJD who is a male. My male was following it around everywhere but when I added brine shrimp the male started to chase and attack this new EBJD attacks aren't bad but now he's making little nests in the sand . Could the new one be female? Both are only at most 2 inches Click image for larger version
