Why does my jewel cichlid hide behind the heater?

I have plants but he or she loves to hid behind the heater. Why?

Yea for some reason like water quality, not enough hiding spots, scared of something or tank isn't big enough etc...

makes a good hiding spot. unless theyre nice and thick,plants dont work for a scared fish
