Will these peacocks work together?
I would like to get some of these peacocks and would like recommendations on which ones or all of them will get along and how many of each should I get, male/females? Tank is a 125 gal, fully cycled, I have some fish in it now, mostly juvies. Thanks in advance.
Aulonocara ethelwynnae, Aulonocara lwanda, Aulonocara steveni "Neon Blue", Aulonocara hansbaenschi (Red Shoulder Peacock).
Also what are your opinions on OB Peacock (Aulonocara hybrid)?

I have a male and female OB Peacock. They are not very attractive IMO compared to others. The female is very bland in coloration. The male has more color, but just doesn't have that uniform coloration. They just aren't my type of fish, but of course they aren't mine, so I can't complain.

take a look at this chart -
http://www.cichlid-forum.com/article...g_peacocks.php
i wouldn't recommend keeping them with mbuna. but as long as they are all juvies, they should get along pretty well.
I have kept only a single peacock. i'm giving him up soon. too aggressive (probably a hybrid), and won't go with the new demasoni's.

Since I'm trying to learn more about Malawi Cichlids, what fish do you keep your Peacock with? And, when you say that it won't go with the demasoni's, do you mean that demasoni's is too aggressive?

newhobbist,
i kept the peacock with yellow labs in a 29g - not an ideal setup. the labs have been transferred to a 75g, and i gave my peacock to my most trusted lfs. the peacock was blue-barred, making it a target for the demasonis, known for their conspecific aggression.
i was pretty sure i'd have never found the right females for that guy, and i didn't want a 29g all-male peacock tank (slightly impractical).
