I finally bought a little plastic basket to separate my fry. The basket was super cheap at the lfs and just floats on top of your tanks water. Get that thing and I say 100% survival.

Do you just want to avoid removing decor and netting them? That was one of my issues. But even with mellow tank mates and good parents those little guys end up getting gobbled-up. Separate if you want to keep them.

Sweet thanks for the advice =) Not actually got any Labs yet but hoping to get some =P

I'm not an expert on labs but that has been my experience with both species of cichlid I have...one cave spawner and one mouth brooder, both of which I thought would stand a much better chance than they did.

If you want to keep the fry you need to net the holding female and seperate her in another tank.
