Yellow lab question.

My brother has 3 yellowpabs and the other day we went in there and it looked like they were doing a mating dance and he was sliding across the rocks these was and then biting stuff off. But now her mouth doesn't have a bump in it could it be because she is in the early stages of the eggs? Any advice would help. Thanks.

If there had been a successful mating her lower jaw would be heavy with eggs and distended straight after the mating.

i agree, there would be what looks like a very full mouth and she wouldnt eat. however, it would have been the female biting stuff off, as that is her picking up the eggs.
right now, if there is no bump, she has swallowed them. perfectly normal for first timers, or beginner breeder mothers. it can take a few mating attempts before she actually holds them full term. chances are, there will be another session and more fry, better luck next time!
