10 gallon started

Started a 10 gallon today. I put in about 10 bio balls from my 80 gallon an 30 gallon and piece of live rock from my 20 gallon an a heater and pw.



What I found weird is the amount of ammonia 1ppm, nitrite .25 and nitrate 40ppm. Can anyone explain how this could be?

Can tell but the ammonia is either at 2ppm or 4ppm. Nitrates still at 40ppm. Nitrite .25-.50

From today ammonia 2-4, nitrite 1-2, and nitrate 40-80.
