He definitely looks darker. Might end up being a mocha when he's full grown, from my understanding they start out a darker orange. That would be cool!! I want a mocha for my 30g when it's done cycling, but never see any around here.
That or he's spent too much time under the bright lights and he's tan. Haha

Lmao yeah I dunno, it's weird bc he wasn't like that when I first got him but a few days after that I noticed he was darker, oh well, it would be cool if he was a diff type, my clowns get a long very well

I don't believe it is a mocha although wouldn't that be nice lol. Don't quote me on this one but I think that the subdominant male will begin to darken up a little bit which with clowns the largest will become a female and all the smaller ones will stay male.

Hmm didn't know the color had anything to do with it, I knew the size determined male/female but not color.. interesting

Well its not really the different color effects different sexes like that so much its more like the changing colors with stress or mood that you see in cichlids but like I said I'm not 100% sure on this just going by my own observations. A mocha would have a drastically different pattern. Yours just seems to be one is lighter then the other which usually when a fish looks darker then normal its from being the sub while the dominant "shines" lol

Last night when I turned on my moonlight leds I noticed my frogspawn completely retracted.. never done that before, any reasoning behind that??

When there is no light lps corals retract.... Unless its totally inverted, then something isnt right.

Well it was the first time it did that since I've had him, and I've had only the moonlights on before n he didn't do it. My green hammer stays out so I dunno, guess I'll start leaving just the blue lights on instead of the moonlights

If he only did it once I'd suggest maybe trying out the moonlights again tonight and see what happens. How is it looking today?

Did he put out any tentacles after he retracted or did he just deflate and stay retracted?

I'm gonna go with deflate n retract, but I only looked at him for a few mins so maybe he's tentacles were about to come out?

Not that they don't like it just they think it's night time. Mine do the same. My torch gets wavy and like 5-6 inches then as the lights tone down he gets smaller and smaller
