Quick question.. how fast do blue hippo tangs grow?? I got someone that wants to give me one that's a 1/2inch big right now.. I'm aware they grow to a foot and require a min of 180G but if they're a slow grower I may just have to take it..

Yes API is ok. I'm mean technically you could take the tang but only for a little while.

Well that may not be happening now.. this guys very unclear, but anyways. I read they jump from 1 to 3 inches fairly quick then slow down after that

Personally I'd pass on it unless you are planning on getting a bigger system up and running in the future.

Well I am planning a 90 gallon in the future and I know that's still too small for a hippo but when it gets too big I could just give it to my LFS... I dunno, I don't think I'm gonna get it at this time.. we'll see.
Currently dealing with my cat just getting home from being spayed.. she is not a happy camper :/

I thought your tank was already fully stocked. Honestly, it's not a good idea, even if the tank was empty. It's hard to pass up getting a free fish, but in this case it's better to let it slide. You'll be a better reef keeper for it.

+1, its hard to pass up but it will seperate you from the educated and responsible from the impulsive and careless.

Oh yeah. You couldn't pick a better fish than that. I'm not sure I've ever even seen a green one other than on the net.

He's probably just adjusting to the tank. I'm sure he'l be out and about in no time!
