Hey all
So a lot of you may know me as a real freshie but i really would like some salt water tanks! So i have an empty 3.5 gal and would like to put some sexy coral shrimp in there. But i have a lot of question as listed below!
1) Should there be no Sexy Coral Shrimp, what other kinds of shrimp could i fit in there?
2) Should i use RO/DO water straight away?
3) Do i need a light, there are going to be no corals just live rock.
4) What should i feed the SCS?
5) Does it matter if i only have an internal filter?
6) How do i mix salt and water to make salt water?
7) How do i make gas exchange in a SW tank, make the surface rippled?
8) How many SCS should i get?
9) How long does should i wait before adding them?
Sorry for all the questions but i really want this tank to be okay :)

1.) you can keep sexy shrimp and some crabs and snails.
2.) yes or you will have hair algae in the future.
3.) no you don't need any special light.
4.) you can feed them flakes or some frozen brine shrimp.
5.) No an internal Filter is Fine.
6.) You can mix it in a 5 gallon bucket. Add the correct amount of salt mix to the bucket and 3 gallons of water. Then add a heater and powerhead then leave for 3 hours or overnight. Test your salinity with a refractometer it should be between .022-.026
7.) I'm not sure on this one.
8.) It is preferred in groups of 3 but that may be too much Bio load on your tank.
9.) You should wait a week after your cycle is done.( go with a fishless cycle and add a couple drops of ammonia to your tank. then just wait for it to drop and then your nitrites should go up then go down then your nitrates should be less then 20ppm.
