It's a great bonus, It takes off the price of buying a powerhead! Do you think I should just get the stock lighting? Or buy the tank itself and buy better lights?

I would buy the tank itself, and buy an extra 9w fixture (you get a total of 18w!) Thats what I did, and my lps are loving it. Not sure about sps though... Anyway, I would just buy the whole tank, as $40 for a tank + filter + lights is a pretty good deal! even if you ditch some parts over time. Btw, you can get the whole picotope kit for 39.99 at DFS.

Yeah that's where I was looking. It sounds good! And extra ten for lights isn't bad!

Cool! Btw, I actually paid $25 for the light which is kind of a ripoff when compared to the tank, but there is only one place I could find to buy the lights. I can give you the link if you want.

Yeah, it allows you to just buy the tanks, or lights. So I can just put two.

Kind of important question (I don't know how this went over my head, but I guess I just never researched it... Hmmm next time better research lol )
Can micro bubbles from aeration hurt corals in any way? To combat excess co2 and ph swings, I have added a stronger air pump with an airstone in the fuge. However, some bubbles do reach the DT, and sometimes settle on the rock/polyps.
My guess is its fine, but just wanted to check bc I don't want to bring up the possibility of stress for my frags.

No I do not think so! IME I had a skimmer produce a lot of micro bubbles. Just a pain more than anything.

Thanks Frankie. I did a little interwebs research and found out that some people have had issues with open airstones, specifically with ph dropping. Anyway, I used some plastic cutters to DIY my filter to accommodate the bubbler. Hopefully the bubbles won't get in the DT anymore!

Thank you!
The glass gunk is so annoying... I use a half credit card as a cheapo scraper, works pretty well
