I've been thinking of doing a 6 gallon reef for sometime now with just a HOB filter for filtration and movement.

My plans for the tank are just to add some simple corals to care for that won't require dosing. zoas/palys mostly, some LPS maybe 1 hammer or frogspawn, and maybe a chalice.

My plans for fish and inverts would be small. I'm leaning towards a yasha goby and a cleaner shrimp or fire shrimp, don't care about pairing the fish. Other then this some snails and less common hermits.

I've had a 75 reef for a while now and was SPS dominate. Went on vacation for two weeks and my tank sitter did not follow the dosing program as I laid it out and came home to more then half my corals gone but I'm slowly building it back up. Have since invested in a dosing pump for this tank.

I'm just looking for opinions or thoughts on this project. Any input would be appreciated and considered in the build.
