This algae is purple and stringy with lots of bubbles in it thoughts possibly cyano or dinos..? Any ideas? And how should I get it off the sun coral? Soft bristled toothbrush(unused obviously)??
Thats cyno what always worked for me was cut back on feeding lighting and clean my filters and once I see that they are Dying off I stick to that schedule.
How old is your reef? It's typically just a stage in the cycle. cynobacteria is actually from the air, so it's always present in our tanks. You can treat it if it gets bad enough, but it will also just balance out eventually. The only thing that I know that will eat it is the head stripe dragon goby (I think)
