Frozen will keep phosphates lower. Flake and pellets are all phosphates.

Awesome will do. I have frozen mysis. Should I get a couple others to keep it varied? Everyday, or once every two days?

Switching it up is usually good, but I personally stick to mysis as much as possible. This is due to all the fish in my tank eating them, rather than only some eating krill for example, and them being gut loaded they aren't simply getting empty nutrients.

Photo dump time!!

Mysis is a top choice. I've also had really good results with San Francisco Bay Brand 'marine cuisine'. It I'd a good mixture and easy to find. I've heard good things online and from my buddy who seeks out that LRS 'reef frenzy' is really good too. I may give it a shot next time I buy. Tank looks good BTW.

Just read through your thread, great looking tank! I'll be following along. What's that orange stick thing in the sand bed? Is it a sponge?

Thanks!! It's coming along. The orange thing is a tree sponge! It was on sale through a local supplier so I figured I'd give it a try and it's been fine. It does have to stay in the water and can't be exposed to air or it will die but other than that it looks healthy and I haven't done much with it lol.

Happy birthday! Nice new additions! Gotta give that torch some room that can really sting some stuff!

Lol! I agree he did do an awesome job. He had a really cool plan too but he gets too excited about surprises so I got it about three days early (the 10th rather than the 13th) in the form of a receipt to pick it up. He was going to bring it home on my birthday while I was at class, acclimate it and use one of my whiteboard markers to draw a present box on the glass in front of it lol!

LOL yes it has extended big a few times but not consistently. I am a weeeee little bit behind on my water changes so I'm doing one tonight and another tomorrow or the next day and hopefully he will be happier lol.

In other news, my blue leg hermit crab stole an empty snail shell. Little thief he is lol. If you look close you can see his little legs.

Yea, the blue legs are notorious for it, as are most. That's why I stick with the 'friendliest' the scarlet reef hermits.

Gorgeous specimens. Thanks for sharing. BF sounds like a keeper. Happy bday.

That's very cool! What camera do you have? I love when you catch the royal gramma in the cave and she runs away, but then comes back to say "hi"!!

Thank you! It's a Nikon of some sort. I don't remember the model name. I'm still trying to work on getting it to focus right. I'm not camera savvy lol.

I'm thinking of changing this tank into a BTA/clownfish tank and putting the coral frags into my 75G reef when it's ready.
