I was thinking of making my own fiber filters to save money and was considering using Penn plax procarb z for the carbon and using coralife pure-flow fine filter pad for the face of the filter pad. The coralife filter pad seems like a good product but I was worried that it wouldn't let enough water through. Has anyone used this stuff before? Any ideas or comments?

I just simply went the inTank route as need many in the forum. I took out the false floors and added the I tank media rack. I use chemi pure elite, purigen and phosguard.

No skimmer and I upgraded the stock pump to a MJ1200.

I felt the stock filtration wasn't up to par.
