blue legged hemit crab

i have just one blue legged hemit crab in the tank and fish too but the crab keeps killing and eating all my snails i have xtra shells for him and he switches in them everyone once in a while but he doesnt stay in them. he kills the snail i guess cuz he needs another shell but there some in there wat should i do? i feed him a shrimp pellet like 2x a week should i feed him sumthing bigger like half or a quarter of silversides. if he keeps eating them im going to have to get rid of him but hes part of my clean up crew but hes eating the rest of the crew. hes eaten about maybe 7-10 i actually need to buy more cuz he ate 3 alone just this week. does he eat them beacuse they are dying and its a free meal or what?

thats one of the reason i dont have hermits, snails arent cheap be replace

If it is one particular one then you might want to remove it. I had one that did that and did not stop till most snails were gone. Some go rogue.
