If you are using an API test kit, they are notorious for giving high readings. If your alk is at an acceptable level, chances are your calcium is good or even a little low.

It's at a 500, my Zoas are acting weird and not opening but are spreading fast, and then my mushrooms are thriving.

Check your alkalinity an pH. I'd bet that's the problem with the zoas. As mr. X said what test kit are you using?

What test kit are you using? I doubt it's at 500....if it is, you alk is dangerously low. More calcium will not make anything grow faster BTW.

API is the test kit. And I haven't ever thought to check the Alkalinity. Thanks for telling me that. I have been on check with my water changes. I honestly just don't know much about coral care and heed advice
