I have live rock in my filter topped off by a section of "bath scrubby". You know- those body wash scrubby things... I unraveled it and cut off a section, bunched it up and the. Stuck it on top of the live rock in the filter.

I'm not sure if it would help the cloudy water. Carbon may be a good idea.

Thanks guys! Think im going to get some carbon tomorrow! I freaked out when I saw that cloudy tank! It's hard being away for 2-3 days.

just read this entire thread and now I want a nano reef really badly lol

So far it's a ton of fun! Go on craiglslist and find a cheap 10-20 gallon and then start building up! With everyone helping on here it's been really easy and enjoyable.

I'd wait on the coral. Get your CUC and then wait until your system stabilizes then try coral.

Okay sounds good! What about a CUC? I have no idea what's Best for a 10 gallon and how many to get and what not.

Nassarius snails are good. They eat detritus and left over food. They are carnivores. Emerald crabs are good. They eat some algae and detritus. They are omnivores. Blue legged hermits are also omnivores. Make sure you have a couple extra shells for them to grow into. Those are what I've had for a few weeks and they are doing well. I feed the snails a couple of sinking pellets everyday, but it's because my tank is so new and I dont have fish that I am feeding. Just some ideas. :)

Awesome! Thank you for your help! :)

Probably expensive as well huh?! Haha. I just lost 40$ at a casino last night :( that was going to go towards my Reef tank, and now my budget is much smaller haha

My fire shrimp is pretty big. I don't know their gallonage in terms of what they require. But mine is easily 5" long. Do you have a cave or overhang for it to live in?

Oh, I thought this was bearchumjs's 5 gallon thread. 10 gallon is better in terms of size. I still don't know though lol.

5"? Fully grown? Idk I just heard they're smaller than cleaner shrimp. And I love watchin shrimp. They're the invert that adds activity to your tank.

I hope it's fully grown. With the antennae it's probably 8 or 9 inches lol. It is big!
