You can get a few kinds. For a cleaner shrimp, I'd recommend two scarlet skunks or only one fires shrimp. You can even get both if you want. You can also get some peppermint shrimp, as many as you want, a coral banded shrimp, etc etc. it's really opinion based here

Just be careful with a coral banded. They can be mean. Mine killed my yellow watchman goby. Looked in the tank and he had him by the tail and the goby was trying to get away but it was to late. The cleaner shrimp is good

+1 to this I've heard many stories of coral banded shrimp being bullies. All the other shrimp are peaceful though

I know I could have gotten rid of the nitrates while I was getting the salinity correct but I'm not sure about the rest. Is it looking good or not? I had a shrimp in there for about 3 days and couldn't stand the smell anymore.

Well you had a spike in nitrite after the ammonia. That is what u are looking for. Did u do a water change after the spike or was it before?

Do another change to get the ammonia down to 0. Then give it a day or two and test again to make sure that it doesn't do back up

Yea agreed wont hurt to wait a day or two. I left the light on for about 4 hours today to see if I would get a temp swing but it was all good. Glad to see something you put a lot into coming together so nicely!

How long have you been cycling? It's a little weird that nitrates are zero too, but maybe you did a water change and I just forgot (bad memory, ya know).

Nitrates shouldn't be that low. Have you been dosing ammonia?
