I was surprised to see "free". I wouldn't buy it and let it dry out. Hopefully he still has it. Maybe he has to move in a hurry or something? I don't know. I'd like to see a photo of it. We'll see. I haven't heard back yet. Wonder if he has anything else he needs gone ASAP..

Nitrites at .25 tonight guys!! I will test again in the morning. If they are zero I'm going to throw in some bloodworms.

Sounds good!! Can't wait to see the light on that tank and some corals. Your doing corals right? With that light your getting you can pretty much have anything. Sorry I haven't read your whole thread, what are you doing for live stock or are you not?

Im so excited about the light! I'm doing corals for sure!! Zoas, Duncan's, shrooms maybe... I'd like a sun polyp. A branching montipora thingy... It's gonna be amazing. Oh- blue clove polyps. They're purdy.

As for livestock I was thinking a hippo tang and engineer goby...

Sike! I'm going to have a CUC- nassarius snails, peppermint shrimp, hermit crab, some other small snail. MAYBE a rainsford Goby... Thats a HUGE maybe. That would be pushing it since they say they require more space. I will for sure have a fire shrimp. I may just get a clown goby or something. We'll see.

OH! A worm brain. I want one of those too. I don't want the shrimp/goby pair to bury it. Where's the video? I'd like to watch it.

I threw in some bloodworms to feed my bacteria until I do a water change and get livestock.

How low do I want my nitrates?

I'd say as close to 0 as you can get. Those colors are tough with the API it could any of three.

In person it looked like 20ppm. I can do a 3-4 gal pwc. I think I have to get more salt though. Since I'm getting a sweet light and will be able to get coral much sooner than expected, I should get the instant ocean reef crystals, not just the plain saltwater mix that I got last time, correct?

I would. I use the instant ocean reef crystals and have good luck with it.

To me cycle doesn't look completely done color wise(if you can tell through a picture, over the computer lol). I've always had the yellow look more like a murky yellow and yours looks kinda pale green.

But congratulations!! Lots of work you've put in so far. And waiting is work! It's the hardest work!

I think it's just the picture. The ammonia test didn't change color at all after I shook it up. I will keep an eye on it though. I have to do a pwc on the 55 community that I have and get more water for the pwc on this pico so I won't be adding living creatures for a couple of more days. I dropped in a cube of frozen blood worms. I'll test everything again tomorrow and see how it looks. . Waiting is the worst! Lol!
