Thank you!!

I recharged my purigen today. I noticed I was getting some cyano on the sand. I was thinking of getting a peppermint shrimp. Will 1 be fine or do they like to have company?

My big one molted every 1-2 weeks for a while. He's pretty big now, molts a lot less often now.

Thanks! I had just done a 50% pwc since my 3yo put a boat load of food in there... He must have liked all that fresh clean water!

Did a 30% pwc today. I've got an algae bloom. I think it's from when my 3yo decided that Blue was hungry and put waaaaaay too much food in there a few weeks back. I did my best to get it all out but obviously there was some left. I don't know what else could be causing it. I added a margherita snail, nassarius, and a blue leg hermit. I wanted some cerith snails but they were out. Held off on getting a brittle starfish. They were pretty but I need to wait til my algae settles down. I'll just keep doing pwcs. It'll stop eventually.

I don't think food would cause algae bloom? How about a window near by?

Too much food would certainly have caused an algae bloom. Keep up the PWC and you should get on top of it...

That's what I figure. Once the food is done, well... rotting... then it should stop. Until then, pwcs...

I've noticed less algae growth on the glass since my last pwc. That's good!

Well, things are going good with the tank. Blue is getting big and so is Claude the cleaner shrimp. He molts alot! I haven't added anything to the tank in a while. The most exciting thing is that I have baby snails! I think my margherita snails had babies!

Well, about the only thing that's grown is my aiptasia. Lol! I need some aiptasia X that I will hopefully get next week. Last time I went to petco they were out. My frogspawn is still doing good but hasn't really grown much. For some reason my mushroom detached completely. I couldn't find it. Then when I was doing a water change last week I was like- is that it?! Sure enough! I placed it on a seashell and it opened back up and has attached itself to the shell. I have no idea why it detached in the first place. Something happened about 2 months ago and almost all of my zoas died. I only have about 4 xmen palys left and a small patch of the radioactive dragon eyes. Hopefully though, now that my snails are breeding it means my tank is done going through weird stuff and my coral will begin to grow again. I will take a picture later today after the frogspawn opens. The light just came on a few minutes ago.

That's good to hear! Maybe I can trade them for store credit when they get bigger. Then I can get new coral!

I was told its a frogspawn. It's the coral in my Avi picture. Don't torches have feeder or sweeper tentacles? This coral does not.
