You're welcome! I'm glad it's a good crab. They sell some on live aquaria for $20. So that's an awesome thing to find in the tank!

Just out in my lfs and I asked if there was any need to add a source of ammonia to my tank,he said "no way just wait for the algae to go brown and you will know when cycle is done"

Sorry to pop in out of nowhere. But are you sure that is a porcelain crab? Looks like a Lophozozymus edwardsi or Xanthias Lamarcki to me. I would suggest google image the names. I chime in, because if so, than this would not likely be a crab most people would keep in their tanks.

The origin of the Porcelain Anemone Crab is throughout the Indo-Pacific. Known to have a symbiotic relationship with Anemones, you will find them either standing on or hiding besides the Anemone for protection. If you have a Clownfish that is paired up with the Anemone, the crab will either fight for his territory or just move on.

The Porcelain Anemone Crab is a very peaceful invert in which it should not be kept with larger and aggressive inverts. Its diet consist of planktonic food and mucus that comes from the Anemone.

In order for this invert to grow, they need to shed their exoskeleton to begin the new growth process of a larger one. Their old translucent shell will be abandoned in an open area causing a distraction while it hides in a safe area for the new exoskeleton to harden. This process is called molting and may take up to two days to complete the transition.

So, are saying that the crab looks like a porcelain crab and not the two that i mentioned?

Porcelain crab will have antennae, only 3 legs to either side, filter feeder apendages, and distinct claws of the porcelain crab species.

I couldn't see the crab that well in the photo. It's possible it may be the 2 you mentioned but I'd need a better look.

Liverock will make the cycle go alot quicker. I used liverock and added a piece of shrimp into mine and it was cycled within 2 weeks. Live rock has the beneficial bacteria on it that consumes ammonia and nitrites. You have to add a source of ammonia to feed the bacteria or it will die off.
