Fish selection is important. With the right choices the risk is minimal. I haven't had a cover on any tank, FW or SW, in many years.

yeah, they don't suck. Hopefully I can get the lights adjusted and not murder them.

Right now I have it set at a peak intensity of 30% white, 40% blue, 50% royal blue. and all the frags are on the bottom of the tank for now.

The darth mauls are starting to open... just a couple more polyps to open and my whole order will be alive.

A few more pics from tonight. I still have 1 frag that isn't opening - the orange darth mauls. Hopefully it comes around. Everything else is looking good.

Looks beyond awesome Justin
I'm always surprised on how small some corals are, the individual pictures make them look so large

Hey Justin, why kind of camera do you use for your pictures? They are gorgeous!

It is a canon T3 EOS Rebel with a Tamron 60mm f/2.0 macro lens.

if you don't mind me asking how much did the lense cost you? I have the same camera. I assume you use a custom white balance as well? some specifics on your settings would be helpful. I just got my leds and I can't get a good picture for the life of me now.

Yes custom white balance. I wrote up an article about how I take reef macro photography. It is on the front page of the site.

I think the lens was around 4 or 5 hundred.

They are working out well. Been very busy lately with work so not much more has been added but the zoas that are in are multiplying.
