If $ wasn't an issue/which (lighting setup) would you choose

Long story short, i was supposed to get a deluxe nano cube at my lfs, but the "sale" price cube was not available..........so I am going to order via the internet. I have 2 options:

regular deluxe nano cube with 48 watts of light

OR

custom cube with 72 or 82 watts of light, built in moonlight and upgraded cooling system.

I know some things require more light than others, so here is the real question .......do you think I can keep stuff w/72-82 watts that i could not with 48 or if i can't keep em with 48, i would need MH lighting so don't bother with the custom setup.

Lando gave me some good info before, but I guess I was hoping (you know how that goes) that I might have better luck with an anemone and a hardier clam for example, if I get the extra lighting.

TIA,
Jim

Anemone and nano cube in the same post = trouble...Unless this nano cube is 20G or more, I wouldn't spend too much time trying to plan on an anemone being in there. They wander, require pretty good water quality and are difficult to keep with out the problems associated with nanos, much less in a true 'nano'. (Im guessing the 12G nano?) Lighting and anemone's...

Thanks again,
Jim

If you are going to spend the money on an upgraded Nano Cube, just get a glass tank, whatever lighting you want, and it will be a lot cheaper which will let you get a protein skimmer as well.

I have thought about that. I have a 125 that is setup really well, and I know it is not cost effective, but I like how everything is incorporated into 1 unit (so to speak) and is very clean looking with the nano. Again, I know I could spend the $ and get a better setup with more equipment, but the nano cube will fit very well in my office where as the 10 gal w/more equipement would be a better deal.

I guess I'm paying for the "convenience" and compactness so to speak. It's kind of a guilty pleasure.................such as liking a Briney Spears song.

Thanks grimlock, I definately see what you are saying and do not disagree.

Jim
