Nice rockwork. Is that chaeto in the sump. I have a very similar light fixture in the sump which I purchased from Home Depot. The light is a 55 or 57k 75w bulb and the chaeto is growing very very slowly if at all. Sump light stays on about 12 hours daily.

my cheato doesnt grow either. my bulb is just a regular 60w house bulb. i think i need to change the bulb. then again, ive had some water issues, that are just about taken care of, so hopefully it will start to do its thing soon.

If you are just using a regular 60watt bulb...go to lowes or home depot and look at the energy saver bulbs...the funny looking ones. They have a few that are perfect for a fuge. I'm using a 100watt grow bulb...does an awesome job. Runs at like 25watts but is equal to a 100watt bulb.

im goin to lowes. i dont remember the wattage, but its 5100K, power compact bulb. im hoping it will make some difference. i just went through the grusome task of cleaning the sump and replaced all the tubing. man was that a pain!
i will take pics of whatever i get. im thinkin more rics and a birdsnest!! maybe even a montipora (hope i spelled that right). the lfs has a sale buy one, get another for $10.
