Khuligirl's 20 long nano reef build

Finding some little hitch hikers.. Baby nessarius snails and what I think are little bristle worms. Front half of the body a orange and back half is brown.

Well, not so sure about it being a bristle worm anymore. Whatever it is, it can wiggle very fast. Upon closer inspection it looks like the brown part is food in its system.

Really? It was definitely very worm/snake like. And when it curled up, in the light I could see that it had little hairs covering it's body.
It's the same thing as the 2 pictures above it.

Water test day 3:
http://i1277.photobucket.com/albums/...psvuxc2gs0.jpg
This is not very exciting lol. I hate this ammonia test. The green and lime green are sooo hard to tell apart! Could it be possible that my ammonia is not going to get very high because as it's being produced, the bacteria from my rock and seeded filter media are consuming it? The shrimp is definitely decaying.

Since you are not starting from scratch it is possible that the BB are already consuming the ammonia.
Is the tank smelly? From the shrimp.

Nope it doesn't smell at all.

Anyone know how this compares to the LED I bought off eBay? http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00GFT...=sr_1_6&sr=8-6

FYI never touch hairy wiggling worms in your tank. Bristle worms inflect serious pain just trying to look out

Well I thought it was a flat worm or something at first. It was actually in the box that I transported my live rock in. I didn't see the hairs until after it was on my finger.

Sigh. Water tests same as usual.
http://i1277.photobucket.com/albums/...psythuheht.jpg
Shrimp is now completely decomposed. Obviously the shrimp went somewhere.. It should be somewhere down the line as either ammonia, nitrites or nitrates. But nothing. I'm a little confused. I wish I could get more accurate tests.
After staring at the pictures for a while, I suppose the nitrate could be a tad darker than the first day. Think it could be at 10 instead of 0?

Throw in another shrimp or fish food. One thing this hobby will teach you is patience.

Patience I can handle. I'm just confused why my water tests aren't making sense. I wish there was something more accurate. I'll try another shrimp.

Woo hoo! Now there's a zero ammonia and 20 nitrates although I've still got a whole second shrimp in there..

Sorry that this thread is so boring haha I probably should have waited to start it until after my cycle finished.
