nanos

i saw my first nano tank set up in the store last week and really liked the look, so of course i want one now! The one i saw had the 24 watt PC and was 12 gallons

Does anyone have one? Is the lighting enough to grow anything good coral wise? Do you add a power head and if so what size? What about a skimmer?

Thanks for any feed back!

I believe the JBJ NanoCube is now offered in a delux model that has 48 watts of lighting in a 12 gal. That would be a much better options. It is pretty new and hard to find yet...Lando

They wanted $150 at a LFS for the 24 watt model here! I am doing a 10 gal with a custom 2x32 PC. Should be a lot cheaper.

24W is kinda weak for 12g. You will need powerheads. The rule of thumb for GPH is 10x(your tank gallons)=GPH. for a 12g tank you will want a powerhead(s) that will give at LEAST 120 GPH total.

If you do weekly water changes you can get away without using a skimmer.
