Hey guys, recently decided stepped up from tropical to marine fish keeping (big boy fish keeping as a friend calls it) and have purchased a fluval m50 (54litres - 15gallons). Was wondering if it would be ok to keep

Watchman shrimp pair.
clown goby or a small blenny such as a tail spot (blennys other than sailfin/jewel are hard to find in scotland).
several small hermits and snails.
Also considering a cleaner or peppershrimp but don't know how they will get along with the pistol.

Is this to much?

That is actually a good consideration of stocking of a 15 gallon tank. I personally love using liveaquaria.com in terms of accurate needs of livestock. That and they have a nano section just for your style of tank! A watchman/pistol shrimp might be a stretch of the tank size, but is likely doable with proper weekly water changes and filtration. Might have some initial algae/cyano issues, but doable in my opinion. Hope this is helpful.

Was planning a weekly 10% water change, do the pair have a large bio load or do they take over the bottom of a small tank? Will the hermits/snails and other shrimps be safe with them? One other question for a clean up crew am I correct in saying that I need a hermit and a snail for every gallon of water?

No on the snail per gal thing. As for the shrimp co-existing it can be hit or miss IME. I had a cleaner in with a Randall's / hi fin pair for a little over a year and it was okay until one day the cleaner must of come to close to one of his burrow entrances and the pistol got him. That was a ten though so maybe with the extra real estate in a 15 you would be fine. Just my $.02

Well that's something for me to think about, wouldn't want to put one into a tank when I could be eaten. Was considering an emerald crab but for some reason they freak me out.

Thanks a lot fir the help.

Inverts typically have a very small bioload in our systems. I expressed caution around the shrimp/goby pair as some gobies can get quite large. Check out liveaquaria.com so you can look into shrimp gobies more, but many are looked at for the larger nano tanks, 29-30 gallons.

I will just get a clown goby to go with my Bennie then, thanks for the advice.
