I've notice a bit of dark purple bacteria growing. Any ideas?

Bad? Should I remove it immediately? I am going to do a water change tomorrow.

Ok thank you. I will try and get most of it out.

Anyone know a cause?

Red slime algae or cyano occurs from nutrients like nitrates and phosphates. If you test, there probably will be a little to zero because they are using it...Getting a phosban reactor or more frequent water changes helps. They also grow usually in low flow areas, so increasing flow where they are could get rid of them. Even if you siphon them out, they can grow back rapidly.

Ok great. I'll change the water tomorrow and change the direction of my power heads
