Hi all, I'm new to salt water. I am in the process of making a HOB refugium for my 16G reef tank (in cycling process). Id like to have all equipment in there so as to have a nice clean tank. I'm wondering where the skimmer (haquoss nanoskim)would go, is it in the first compartment (water inlet) or last compartment after refugium (water outlet). Any design ideas would be appreciated :)

Thank you all,
Sean

I would have it before the refugium if you have the choice. I wouldn't want any obstacles for the pods to have to overcome before they reached the DT. Plus, skimming out particulate matter before it hits the refugium is a good idea. Otherwise you may get a build up of detritus in there over time.

Great, thank you for that. I will design it to fit the skimmer first.
