Sponges are filter feeders, they require a mature tank to allow it to feed. It is very very important that they are never exposed to air.

Never exposed as for tank age only a few months I'm kinda scared its gunna die and I can't do nothing about it

You'll be fine if you can find some phytoplankton. There are also foods you can buy for filter feeders.
