What killed my hermit?

Came home today and saw the legs of my red legged hermit on the sand can't find anything else. I have a astrea snail another red leg a wheeler goby and a tiger pistol. I'm guessing the pistol but I can't find him

Did u find the shell? If not then it prolly molted. If its a scarlet than they seem to molt all the time

Omg I'm an idiot. It seriously looks like a dead body. No wonder there were pieces of body all over the tank. Should I remove the molt or will my pistol eat it

I leave them because they are just shell and they just dissolve
