Worth getting a customized nano??

I've been researching nano reef tanks and I stumbled upon nanocustoms.com Do you think it is worth getting an "upgraded" nano tank for the price they are asking ($235 and up)? They seem really nice, and the extra lighting is definitly a plus...

thanks!

i wouldn't suggest it. you can get the same thing at the fish store for under $100 only with out the lights. but you could easly do a retrofitting for under 50 bucks if you know how.

If you take a look at the link, it isn't just lighting... it includes an improved skimmer, better spash guard, and some other stuff.

i didn't notice the skimmer part. that is defenatly a plus and the lighting is really good....
i would say, unless your a serious diy expert you might as well go ahead and get it. but other wise you can build your own with a store bought kit for way less, including skimmer and lights

do you know where to find these kits? Anywhere online? If it isn't too terribly hard, or if it comes with directions that I can follow, I wouldn't mind doing it myself. Especially it is costs way less!

sory, but what i ment by kit was a bare bone aquarium with hood from the fish store and then building the rest from scratch. its what i did, and it took me along time to buid it all. you really have to custom build it. on the nanocustoms website they have kits for lights though. i looked a litle more in depth at the nanos at nanocustom and i really cant get much info from that site, although the tanks do look really good. i couldn't tell if they had a skimmer, but i think it would be worth the money if they did. unless your willing to really spend lots of time building custom parts i would just go with the nanreef that you found.

For $250 you can get a glass 10g tank, PC hood of your choice, and a protein skimmer. I think $250 is a bit much when you can spend that same money on a standard setup and also get a protein skimmer like a CPR Bak Pak 2.

grimlock, those were my thoughts as well. Plus it is a lot easier to replace all those parts on a regular 10 gallon, IMO...hmmm... What brands would you suggest for all the equipment? I always get so confused when I'm searching through brands online.
