120g Build, upgrade from 72 bowfront.

Ok so I had a 72g bowfront set up for about 5 months when I decided to move. I decided I wanted to upgrade, the old 72 was scratch and stand was in very poor condition and I was afraid it would not make the trip. I had bought the 72 from a friend, he didn't take care of it. My plan was to keep the old tank functional while we moved then set up the new tank and stand at the new house 30 miles away. I talked to my LFS and Aqueon had a sale on a 120g with two overflow and drilled. Perfect!

You could go overboard and have a 120g display with 72g bowfront refugium/sump lol.

I had to wait to get the new aquarium to build my stand to ensure perfect dimensions. It took my one whole day in 100 degree heat to build it. New tank was 48 1/2"x 24 1/2" with black trim. So top of stand built to 48 3/4 x 24 3/4 this left a perfect 1/8 " on all sides under the tank. I put 3/4" birch plywood on the top of stand under tank giving it more structure and strength.

Thought about that but it would be to tight, no room for reactors or ATO tank, skimmer slug cup and other stuff

I had my MP40 from the last tank for wave making. Aquapro 48" light fixture and a Protean 400 system from ETSS all also from the last tank. My refugium has a deep bed of Miracle Mud, Cheato growing with a 5700 k spiral CF from HD. About 10 pounds live rock in refugium. The skimmer is a Sump Buddy 40, does really well if you keep the water level in the sump some what constant.

There are two Phosban reactors, one with GAC other has GFO driven by am Ehiem pump, only uses 10 watts. Sump return is a mag 9.5.
