We have a 38 gallon aquarium that's been set up for years. Most of the coraline algae has disappeared, rocks are mostly white, but covered with a brown mat with a few green hair algae tufts . I perform weekly water changes and test regularly - water quality always tests where it should. I'm wondering about reducing photo period to 8 hours - currently it's 12 hours. Should the lighting be adjusted over time or all at once (we only have zoas & palys for corals)?

Will our coraline come back with reducing the lighting schedule?
