Ack! Flatworms! Please Help!!!

I have just noticed that i have an outbreak of flatworms. They look like this http://www.rshimek.com/images/flatworm composite1.jpg except the ones in my tank are rust color. How do i get rid of them? Does that Flatworm Exit from Salifert work? Anyone with any success with it? Where can i get some from? Do i really need a pound of GAC?

I have read very good things about flatworm exit, from what I understand it works quite well, I've only read of a couple of people that had to repeat the treatment.

Do i really need a pound of GAC?

Yes, to remove the medication after use and because when the flatworms die they will release toxins into the water that could kill your fish and inverts.

Where can i get some from?

Check our sponsors, I'm certain one of them carries it.

Thanks RR! Im gonna have to give it a try. Probably this weekend. Other than being unsightly, do those particular flatworms cause any damage?

Not sure what species you have, but some are predatory and most will cause problems by simple numbers alone.

We used the "flat worm exit" and it WORKED! I highly reccomend it. We had a pretty severe infestation and it took it out in one dose.

Guess thats the way i will go. Gonna order some flat worm exit in the morning. Funny thing is ive seen them, just never really paied mutch attention to them, i didnt know what they were. Now they are EVERYWHERE!!!! 8O
