Hey I currently have 2 tanks a fluval Vicenza 180 and a fluval m90 and I want to make one of them a marine tank. Would it be better to convert the 180 litre with a hob skimmer and the external filter or use the smaller m90 which has a 40 litre sump? I was told a sump is always better but the 180 litres seems to have everything I need. Thanks

It's on a cabinet and there's not enough space underneath. Is a sump always better?

I have built my last 2 sumps out of plexi-glass and weld on. It is a fun adventure. With plexi, you can make it to fit your cabinet. The sump gives you a place to hide all the heaters, skimmers, etc. It also allows a place for all your suspend matter to settle into.

Suspend matter?
