Advice needed - securing powerhead without suction cups

I have a powerhead stuck to the plexiglass with four suction cups. Slowly but surely the suction cups are losing it and becoming harder to clean. The pump is going to fall and that would be bad. (they suck less..so they suck more? )

Does anyone have any creative suggestions for an alternative way to secure that powerhead?

I'm thinking of a magnet, like one of those magnetic glass cleaners. Would the presence of such a strong magnet have any bad effects on the impeller of the pump? If I attached only a metal strip to the pump, what metal can take the abuse of salt water without introducing anything bad to the tank?

I've been had a powerhead glued to an algae magnet for over a year and it hasn't been a problem

what about making an acrylic type of hook that the powerhead can rest on.
