African red knob star fish
Anyone ever had a African Red Knob star fish? I think they look awesome with the red "spikes". Any tips / suggestions about them?

-50gal tank
-20gal tall sump / refugium.
-About 15-20 lbs of live rock
-60 lbs (3") of sand.
-2x65w power compact lights
-2x18w power compact in the refug.
-bak pak 2R
-3 LARGE feather dusters all differebt colors
-orange spotted goby
-fire fish
-12 or so hermits
-50-60 nassairus snails
-about 12 turno snails
-emrald crab

If you are going to have a reef, I would stay away from them. They are known to be coral munchers.

They do look cool. I'm pretty sure their like chocolate chip starfish and they can even eat away coraline alge

I think they are amazing in appearance as well. I would suggest maybe putting them in a preditor tank that doesn't have a reef set up.
