Are the screw-in MH bulbs as good as the double ended?

Yes. People grow coral under both with good sucess. The DE vs Mogul debate is a pretty big one. The DE'S do put out more intensity but mogul based bulbs work well also. I would say that the best all around bulb is the 250 DE. Than the 250 Mogul based.
