BASE Rock

Ok I know that I can add base rock to tank and a little LR and the base will become live\

What can the base be I saw some really cool rock on ebay called lace rock from utah would this turn live

How long does it take base to become live.

If you are talking about what I thin you are, it will dissolve fairly quickly over time. Someone else here has already tried using it in a tank.
