Base rock----->Live rock
how about how long does it take for base rock to become live rock, as far as being beneficial to the system?? TIA!!

It really depends on the ratio of LR to BR as well as overall water parameters. Cycling BR to colonize bacteria takes a couple of months. It will take a bit longer for your LR to look like LR.

i have 30lbs base rock mixed with about 70lbs of LR...

With that ratio it should not be too long at all. Just make sure CA/ALK is where it needs to be and you will notice some pretty rapid coraline growth as well.
