Bio filtration

another member from this site (six-line) posted this pic. i was thinking of doing this with my aquaclear but i wasnt sure if it really worked. does anyone know if it does?

Sure it works Lots of people put rocks in there fuge/sump. Any addition of LR is a good idea IMO.

So this is live rock inside the filter where you would otherwise put a filter bag?

Yes, many people replace their bio-media (bio-balls, ceramic rings etc.) & mechanical media (sponges, pads etc.) with live rock rubble.

Yep it works, I had to remove it, and set the rubble in my fuge though. The motor was giving out on that HOB filter.
