Black sand?

I have a 29gal tank with about 2" of sand and 8lbs of live rock. I'm not sure if this is a problem but there is quite a bit of black sand right under the top layer of sand, I have been mixing around the sand to try to get rid of it, is this ok? Or should I just leave it alone?

Is it actual black sand or is it a black line or has the white sand turned black?

Did you add black sand to the tank, or is this normal sand that has turned black?

It is white sand that has turned black. Is it a bacteria?

It is more than likely an anaerobic line marking where your anerobic zone starts.

I stir my shallow sandbed about once per month or so, I actually clow water into the sand bed with a baster, removing any detritus from the bed.
