What kind of bottom critters are necessary for proper cycling?

35 gal. 20 pound LR. LS.

I wouldn't recommend purchasing any living creatures for your tank while it is cycling. I would recommend cycling your tank with Live rock (which you already have), and some ammonia source (pure ammonia or a dead shrimp). Just remember that ammonia can be harmful to you too, so be careful when dealing with it. :)

Here is an article on cycling:

As Redsea stated, it's not the critters that cycle. All you need for a cycle is a bacterial source (Live rock, sand from an established tank, etc. Even the air, though that takes longer) and an ammonia source to feed the bacteria.
Benthic (bottom dwelling) critters come later, usually on Live Rock.
