brackish fish in a marine tank?

i recieved a mated pair of orange chromides as a present back in june. they are normally a brackish fish, but as i dont have a tank available for them, i put them in my 55 gallon fw community.

the female died a few months ago, and the male hasn't been as active as he was. both fish lost their vibrant color, to a more plain gold color. both had developed a metallic eyeliner under their eyes as well.

im wondering if he would do better in a sw tank. chromides are intelligent, and very observing fish

It says:
Water: very clean with some salt added
So that may be your problem. They probably only need a small amount of salt, I'm not too sure if they would like it in a tank that has a salinity of 1.0020 or higher. BTW, what is the typical salinity of a brackish tank?

1.005-1.010 though all bw fish tolerate higher or lower specific gravity

I'd say no... brackish and full marine is quite different. Sorry.

i figured that much, but i know other brack fish like mollies and the dragon goby can live in fw, bw, and sw
