After 3 weeks of settling in, Mister (or Missus) Tang has finally taken to grazing (Seaweed Selects Green) -- I was worried for a while as only pellets would be of any interest.

Just had to share the good news!

a little off topic...
You know you are a reef fanatic when...
You wind up tasting your fishes food first and wind up liking it!

What caught his interest in grazing? Did you cut down on his feedings where as he had no choice? I am curious because my yellow tang seems to always be waiting for the pellets even though I clip some nori inside the tank. I want him to start feeding off the vegetation I put in the tank.

I really didn't do anything. I recently purchased the tank (including livestock). I am thinking that maybe the fish just needed time to settle in to its new home and feel comfortable. Also, the move kicked up a lot of detritus which may have been an alternate food source.

Cutting down on your feeding may help (I have a hard time avoiding overfeeding my fish). How are you placing the nori in the tank (i'm using the suction cup clip)?
