Brownish color

I have been cycling a gal SW tank for past 2 weeks now. Is there a way were I can make the water clearer, as of now the color is brownish. What does an activated carbon does. Any info you can be will be helpful. Thanks

GAC could clear the water but it may also extend cycling time. What are you cycling with?
