busted pump...please help

Hey guys, looking for some fast advice here. I think my main pump is busted - it's not pumping, very hot and keeps tripping my GFCI. I'm going to take it into the LFS when it opens in a few hours. In the meantime, what can I do to keep my tank as safe as possible until I can get things flowing again? Should I toss in a bubbler until I get back? Thanks for the fast help!

What pump? Is it a powerhead or a return from a sump/fuge? Either way, if you are replacing it in the next few hours there is no cause for alarm. Everything should be just fine.

im not sure, but if tripping and its hot, its sound like you burned out the pump. youre probably already home with a nice new pump.
