i think iv seen some idea of having a c02 diffuser in a reef tank.....i have small reef and am able to add c02 if it will help even at the slightest bit....what would it do??

I've heard of this too...but from my (limited) research on the subject it doesn't do anything beneficial. If you wish to run a calcium reactor, you'll need CO2 (something about how it forms carbonic acid in the water). Otherwise, CO2 in a reef is an effective way to lower pH and that's about it.

Co2 is beneficial for planted FW tanks not for SW. It will lower PH in a SW tank.
