I just got my water tested at the local fish store and the calcium level was at least at 800 mg/l. Is this way too high? What are the consequences if it is? What does everyone else keep theres at?? Any help would be great.

Thanks,
Josh

Have it tested again, at SW ph and ALK, if the calcium were that high...it would steadily be going down do to the snowstorm of calcium carbonate preciptation occurring in your tank.

What does that all mean, sorry never really tested all that before??
The water will only hold so much Ca in solution before it "falls out" or precipitates and looks much like someone has just poured milk into the tank.

Try reading these articles, they should help some...
